Ready for a bunch of randomness?

For those wondering what happened after this post, I ended up painting the "C" on our wreath a simple white. I liked the idea of turquoise, but we have more red decor on the outside. So I liked the idea of red but Jason doesn't like the yellow and red together. So white it is. :) 

Random item #2: we've been having lovely weather which merited dinner on the porch:

Next up is our little helpers, watering the plants and working in the yard with Jason:

 Last random pics are of the kids sharing Harry's chair. They've decided they both love this chair the most and so now they just sit together rather than take turns. :) 

At least they don't seem bothered by the closeness! 

Our Prima Ballerina

Along with starting preschool this year, Eden is starting a dance class. She has always loved princesses and ballerinas and "practices" dancing frequently. We decided on a combo class that incorporates ballet, tap and gymnastics. We aren't sure which she'll like the best, but within a semester or year we will let her decide which to focus on. 

I wanted to make it a special thing just for her when we went to buy her leotards and such, so we planned an all girls outing for her, me, my grandmother and my sister. Our first stop was at a local donut shop for her to get her favorite for breakfast, a chocolate donut:

When we got to the dance clothes shop, she went flying over to a display case that had glass ballerina slippers on jewelry and music boxes:

We also got a shot of her with trophies - you know, to prep for the future. :) 

The sales reps were super helpful with finding the right sizes she needed for tap and ballet shoes, and let me help her try them on:

Once those ballet shoes were on, there was no stopping our little dancer!

We also picked up a leotard and some tights:

Our shopping experience was wonderful and we got everything she needed to start her classes in September!

Our last stop was lunch out for Mexican food, since the girl loves her some chips and salsa. 

So proud of our little girl - she is a complete delight, living up to her name!

First Day of School

I can't believe it - Eden has started school! Didn't we just bring her home from the hospital? Where has the time gone. I realize it is only preschool, but still - we are starting an organized, daily learning session for her and I just can't believe it. 

For her first day, this is how she got dressed: 

I'd say she has a slight flair for the dramatic. I think maybe we need to add a class on accessorizing! 

Technically, her very first class (ever!) was with her Auntie Sara - a swim class! Sara came over and took the kids swimming and we totally counted it as PE for the day. 

But then the real work began - take a look at these hard working kids! At their new ($5!!!) desks, comfy IKEA chairs with cushions, and personal lamps (although we don't have light bulbs for them yet, oops!). 

And now take a look at Mom's new desk/craft table:

I LOVE this thing! It has so much space, I can stand to wrap gifts, work on projects, etc., and the sides are bookcases (obviously not filled yet). 

All it took to make it was a table top from IKEA (retails for $36) and two cheap-o Walmart bookcases for $18 each. I also decided to spray paint the back of the shelves, so you couldn't see the light colored backing. I will probably eventually get a chair/barstool for projects I want to sit for as well. 

But in the meantime, I can be busy at my work station while these two are busy at their new desks (can you tell which is the neat freak?). 

Silly Kiddos

We told Eden to brush her teeth before bed and found her in the bathroom like this:

I can't believe how fast the time is going with these two! They are growing up so fast. I am thankful for the time we do have with them. 

Cousins!

First of all, I must apologize for the long stretch since my last post. Things around here have been busy! We are planning our very first year of homeschooling, prepping to potty train Harry, entertaining company, etc. So forgive me for the lack of posting, I will do better!

This past weekend my brother and his family came up from GA to visit. It was great! We always have a wonderful time when they are here. Although we celebrated Sarah's and Grumps' birthdays, the only thing I managed to get pictures of are these beautiful children:

It is such a precious thing to watch these cousins grow up together! Eden, Charlotte, and Harry decided to give us an impromptu piano recital:

It was a great weekend and we are already looking forward to their next visit!
